The article explains how to customize the options of the Gann group of tools.

Details

The Gann group of tools includes Gann Fan and Gann Retracement. While working with the tools, you can customize their options in a variety of ways: show or hide various elements of the tool, customize their colors, widths, and styles, etc.

To customize the options of the tools

Do one of the following:

On the File menu, click Options.

Right-click in the chart and then click Options.
* In the FXCM Trading Station, the command is available on the System menu.

The Options dialog box appears.

In the left-hand panel, click Gann Options.

In the right-hand panel, customize options of the following tools: click Gann Options.

The Gann Retracement options

Option	Description
Gann retracement/fan lines color	The option allows selecting the default color of the Gann Regression lines: click in the option row, click the ellipsis button, and then, in the Color palette that appears, select a color of your choice.
Gann retracement/fan lines width	The option allows selecting the default width of the Gann Regression lines: click in the option row, highlight or delete the existing value, and then type or select a width value of your choice. The values are whole numbers from 1 through 5.
Gann retracement/fan lines style	The option allows selecting the default style of the Gann Regression lines: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then, in the list that appears, click a style of your choice. The values are Solid line, Dashed line, Dotted line, Dashes and dots, and Dashes and double dots.
Show label	The option allows selecting whether to show the Gann Regression label on a chart by default or not: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.
Extend Gann retracement end	The option allows selecting whether to extend the Gann Regression lines at their ending points or not: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.
Extend Gann retracement lines start	The option allows selecting whether to extend the Gann Regression lines at their starting points or not: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.
Show levels on Gann retracement lines	The option allows selecting whether to show by default the level values on the Gann Regression lines or not: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.
Gann retracement level label color	The option allows selecting the default color of the labels on the Gann Regression lines: click in the option row, click the ellipsis button, and then, in the Color palette that appears, select a color of your choice.
Show prices on Gann retracement lines	The option allows selecting whether to show the level prices on the Gann Regression lines by default or not: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.
Gann retracement prices label color	The option allows selecting the default color of the prices on the Gann Regression lines: click in the option row, click the ellipsis button, and then, in the Color palette that appears, select a color of your choice.
Show in background	The option allows selecting how to show the Gann Regression tool on a chart by default: in the background (behind the chart bars) or in the forefront (in front of the chart bars). To select, click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.

The Gann Fan options

Option	Description
Gann retracement/fan lines color	The option allows selecting the default color of the Gann Fan lines: click in the option row, click the ellipsis button, and then, in the Color palette that appears, select a color of your choice.
Gann retracement/fan lines width	The option allows selecting the default width of the Gann Fan lines: click in the option row, highlight or delete the existing value, and then type or select a width value of your choice. The values are whole numbers from 1 through 5.
Gann retracement/fan lines style	The option allows selecting the default style of the Gann Fan lines: click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then, in the list that appears, click a style of your choice. Show in background	The option allows selecting how to show the Gann Regression tool on a chart by default: in the background (behind the chart bars) or in the forefront (in front of the chart bars). To select, click in the option row, click the arrow button, and then click a value of your choice. The values are False and True.

To enable the modified values, click OK at the bottom of the dialog box.
